Senate Passed
a "compromise"bi-partisan Immigration Bill
"On 5/17/2007 the Senate passed a "compromise" bi-partisan Immigration Bill
which the White House approves. The bill offers immediate temporary legal
status for the undocumented, while also strenghtening the border and
enforcement efforts. There will be revisions, amendments and negotiations
regarding the Bill as well as a compromise with the House-sponsored STRIVE
Act. Hopefully the debate will not lose focus again, hopefully our elected
officials will put their own aspirations aside to try to "fix" our
broken-down immigration laws." "For more news, see the Washington Post
article, and the White House fact sheet."
